The 1st Cherry Blossom Festival brings Richmond’s unique community together

The first Spirit of Cherry Blossom Celebration at Garry Point Park has re-waken our island community to the beginning of spring and provided the citizens of Richmond and visitors an amazing opportunity to enjoy the beautiful outdoor splendor of a grove of 255 Akebono cherry trees in full bloom. How could you not be mesmerized by such fragile and pure beauty of the cherry blossom in the spring! The purpose to start a new initiative was to introduce and for the community to experience a touch of authentic celebration of cherry blossoms in Japan. Also, we are sure that this event will transform and emerge as an annual event to bring Richmond’s unique and diversified community together to celebrate with Taiko group, dancers, craft displays, demonstrations, vendors which are associated with cherry blossoms.

Clr. Derek Dang, Clr. Bill McNulty and Clr. Linda McPhail supported the 1st Cherry Blossom Festival at Garry Point Park and thank the event  organizer the BC Wakayama Kenjin Kai.
