A massive, proposed aviation-fuel delivery project to service Vancouver International Airport worries Richmond Coun. Ken Johnston.
The project would include a marine terminal for barges and tankers on the north bank of the south arm of the Fraser River, six steel storage tanks with a total capacity of 80 million litres and a 15-kilometre-long, 300-millimetre pipeline through Richmond between the fuel receiving facility and the airport.
“We’re deeply concerned that the people of Richmond aren’t aware of the impact this may have on them and the potential for spillage on the Fraser,” said Johnston.
